This is the transformer (or igniter) required for starting and correctly operating High Intensity Discharge (HID) bulbs used in the work lights of numerous Case IH, New Holland, and Steyr tractors. Its function is to supply the initial high voltage needed to strike the Xenon arc in the bulb.
